The Operations IT Technician supports the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise and field-based IT systems. This role provides remote and hands-on technical support across hardware, networking, cloud platforms, and audio-visual technologies, while assisting with IT projects and infrastructure initiatives. The technician works collaboratively with internal teams to ensure reliable system performance, supports end users, and helps maintain secure, efficient operations across both office and field environments. Ideal candidates are self-driven, technically versatile, and capable of managing multiple priorities with minimal supervision. This position will report to the MSD Systems & Digital Manager. Detailed Description:
Collaborate across MSD and PTEN IT to successfully plan, implement, and complete IT projects and initiatives. Assist in the day-to-day management of cloud and on-prem infrastructures to include Barco, Service Now, Cisco Meraki, AppSpace, Ubiquiti, and Office 365. Image computers for both field and in-office domain use. Physically handle equipment repairs, cabling, and setup or management of any IT related hardware for field or office use. Handle security, maintenance, and monitoring of field systems. Maintain all documented technical configuration and procedures for future access across MSD Training end users. Assist after-hours as requested. Perform related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Clear and effective communication in documenting problems and implementing solutions including partnering with end users. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Possess logical, organized work skills including the prioritization and timely resolution of multiple tasks involving simultaneous projects and issues. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Maintaining asset logs in company management systems. Work alongside Operations or Technical Writers to create and maintain field procedures regarding IT equipment. Build and maintain field wireless communication systems primarily using Ubiquiti hardware. Program, maintain, and troubleshoot all windows-based field systems including laptops, tablets and Rig Floor Displays. Support deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of warehouse management hardware including multiple types of Zebra devices and printers and Apple iPad Tablets Understand data flow throughout the local area network and wide area network systems. Ability to work under stress, meet multiple deadlines and maintain a calm and professional demeanor when adversity is encountered. Knowledge of current personal computer hardware components and ability to diagnose and repair them, as appropriate, on site. Display ability to interact effectively and courteously with all staff, management, and operations personnel. Requires the physical ability to occasionally lift individual items weighing up to 50 pounds, such as rack mounted servers, switches, batteries, network appliances and rig floor display systems. Backup local IT staff when necessary, providing the same level of support to end-users. Ability to work overtime and travel when required (less than 10%).

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or closely related field Previous work experience in an environment using ServiceNow, Okta, Microsoft Intune, and Office 365. Previous Oilfield Services IT work experience Programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Ubiquiti 5Ghz wireless equipment. General network management skills including, port management, cabling, and switches, including diagnosis of issues. Computer hardware repair experience. Experience reimaging of laptop fleets, 10+ per day as efficiently as possible. Experience with conference room technology including Barco and Teams. CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+ or higher related networking certification such as CCNA.
Additional Details: Work is primarily in a climate controlled / office environment with minimal safety / health hazard potential. The employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time, stand, or walk with occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending and frequent near vision use for reading and use of computer, telephone, and other office equipment. The job may require some overtime, including weekends or holidays and occasional travel is required. No relocation assistance is available for this role. Preference will be given to qualified candidates willing to relocate within reasonable daily commuting distance to the Company's Conroe, Texas facility.
