How You Will Make History Here...

The Art Director will be part of the Studio C Creative & Content Strategy team, responsible for developing and leading bold design ideas that shape how Campbell's brands show up and breakthrough across digital, social, and omni ecommerce platforms.

Partnering closely with the Copywriter and cross-functional teams, this role translates strategy, insights, and trends into distinctive visual concepts - bringing a strong point of view on storytelling, design, and what it takes to create work that stands out across the full consumer journey.

At its core, this role combines strong creative vision and a passion for idea development with curiosity for culture, content, and how food shows up visually, while helping to shape and scale the Studio C design operation, from managing freelance talent to evolving workflows in a rapidly changing tool and AI-driven environment. This role will help fuel a high-volume content engine for some of the most iconic brands in food.

This is a hybrid role based in Camden, NJ.

What You Will Do...

  • Partner with the Copywriter to lead concept development across high-, mid-, and low-priority projects (including photoshoot creative direction, video storyboards, social concepts, sizzle scripts, etc.)

  • Translate brand strategy, consumer insights, and trends into visually compelling, platform-native ideas

  • Set the visual direction, look and feel, and storytelling approach for campaigns, content series, launches, and always-on content

  • Leverage AI and emerging tools to explore visual directions, accelerate concept development, and prototype ideas more efficiently

  • Help shape the Studio C design operation, including freelancer management, workflow development, and ways of working in an evolving creative tool landscape

  • Guide and inspire Production Designer and freelancer talent, ensuring concepts translate seamlessly into scalable execution

  • Bring a strong POV on emerging social trends, formats, commerce content, and creative best practices

  • Present concepts clearly and persuasively to internal stakeholders and leadership

  • Contribute to rapid-turn content needs

  • Participate in brainstorms and bring proactive, insight-driven ideas to the table

What You Bring to the Table... (Must Have)

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Advertising, Visual Communications, or related field

  • 8+ years of experience in creative roles (Art Director, Designer, or similar), preferably within CPG, agency, in-house studio, or digital commerce environments

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating both conceptual thinking and high-level design execution across campaigns, digital content, social, ecommerce, packaging, and branded experiences

  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) with strong understanding of typography, layout, composition, visual hierarchy, color, and art direction fundamentals

  • Strong design sensibility with the ability to create visually compelling, premium, and platform-native content systems across multiple channels and formats

  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects from concept through execution while maintaining high creative standards and attention to detail

  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on design development and executional excellence

  • Deep understanding of storytelling, branding, and consumer engagement across digital-first and social content environments

  • Experience directing photo/video shoots, developing storyboards, and guiding visual storytelling from ideation through post-production

  • Strong presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills

  • Experience mentoring designers, freelancers, and cross-functional creative teams while providing thoughtful creative direction and feedback

  • Experience using AI-enabled creative tools to support concepting, visual exploration, ideation, and workflow efficiency, with curiosity around emerging technologies and evolving creative processes

It Would Be Great if You Have... (Nice to Have)

  • Experience in high-volume content environments or in-house studios

  • Motion/video direction experience

Compensation and Benefits:

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between

$138,000-$189,800

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
