MedStar Health is looking for a Regional Director to join our team at Lafayette MACC - Therapy! The ideal candidate will possess a doctoral degree in Occupational, Physical Therapy, or Speech Language Pathology, as well as leadership skills including coaching, planning, directing, evaluating, and motivating Team Members.

The Regional Director willassistthe senior leadership in the ongoing growth, expansion, development, and supervisory oversight across the continuum of the MedStar Health organization. This includes having supervisory oversight of multiple locations and/or coordination of major programs across the region/organization. In this role, the individual is committed to the expansion and distribution of high-quality programs, services, and systems to exceed internal and external customer expectations. Responsiblefor catalyzingcommunication with local physicians, other medical staff, and program/service stakeholders across the care continuum to promote improved patient service across communities. He/sheprovidesleadership to distinguish the clinic/service line as a preferred provider in the region.

Primary Duties:

  • Providespatient evaluation services including review of pertinent history information, performance of specific assessments, and determination of recommendations and documentation of results. Explains evaluation findings and treatment plan to patient and family and incorporatesthemin goal setting.Demonstratesproficiencyin implementation of treatment protocols based upon evaluation findings, the patient's presentation, and the evolving health care environment. Consults with other healthcare professional(s) asindicated. Recognizes and documents changes in patient's condition requiring modification of the plan of care and/or the need for medical/rehabilitation consultation.Completesappropriate dischargeplanning and follow-up care.Documents patient care activities.

  • Functions as a role model through demonstration of professional conduct and ethical standards of practice and assures compliance withMedStarNationalRehabilitationHospitalNetwork and clinic policies and procedures for all disciplines.Manages the daily operations of assigned clinic(s).This includes assuringappropriate staffing, controlling expenses, managing patient schedules, and efficient processes in place to support team members and customers.Meets or exceeds productivity, charging, and financial targets for the clinic(s).Participates in team removal of barriers to access.

  • Participates in strategic planning and other initiatives for the outpatientnetwork, forindividual outpatient sites,etc. Coordinatesselection, coaching, orienting, mentoring and goal setting to promote improvedperformance.Develops performance standards, evaluates,and conducts performance management.Conducts performance appraisalstimely.

  • Monitors, trains, and formally coaches' therapists to promote clinically and financially effective careplanning. Completesand/or contributes to the development of corrective action plans when necessary.

  • Assistsin the business design and development. Develops and implements clinical programs that are costeffective. Works closely with Business Development to market the programs and services to targeted referrers.Providesleadership for selected programs across the Network. Promotes consistent, safe, quality and value driven services for the identified target patient populations.Takes initiative in pursuing and directing continuing education for professional growth and competency for self and organization. Serves as a clinical instructor to assigned students.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor'sdegree in Occupational, Physical Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, or related field.

  • 2 years significant supervisory experience.

  • Program and staff development experience.

  • Physical Therapy, Physical Therapy Assistant, Speech Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapy,orOccupational Therapy Assistant licensure inMaryland, District ofColumbia,or Virginiarequiredasdeemednecessary for your specific location(s).

  • American Heart Association'sBLS (Basic Life Support).

  • 3-4yearsclinical experience in an outpatient therapy setting preferred.
