TITLE: Maintenance Technician A



POSITION OBJECTIVE: Maintenance Technician A is to ensure the reliability and longevity of equipment and facilities while upholding safety and compliance standards. The Maintenance Technician A is a highly skilled and self-sufficient professional capable of effectively maintaining and repairing equipment, contributing to the organization's operational efficiency and equipment reliability.



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 to 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with knowledge of plant maintenance preferred.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with all levels of personnel.
  • Successful completion of forklift and electric pallet jack certification preferred.
  • Must possess extensive experience in machinery repair, as well as thorough knowledge of troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems throughout the facility.
  • Must have the basic working knowledge of power hand tools such as drills and saws, and must be comfortable fixing machines such as extruders, air compressors, and loaders.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary, such as working weekends or evenings for callouts.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Complete at least one annual "Lock Out" inspection to maintain safety standards and prevent accidents related to machinery.
  • Perform a minimum of one (1) preventative maintenance work order per month to prevent equipment breakdowns and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Inspect and listen to machinery and equipment to identify and locate malfunctions, allowing for early detection and proactive maintenance
  • Tests the operation of machines and equipment to verify proper functioning and reliability.
  • Assist in identifying spare parts required for equipment repair and complete requisitions accurately to ensure timely procurement.
  • Operate with little to no daily supervision, demonstrating self-motivation and accountability in carrying out maintenance tasks.



WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:



  • Ability to work in an environment that is extremely hot, humid in the summer months, and cold in the winter months.
