Job Summary The Quality Manager will lead quality systems and continuous improvement efforts within our converting operations (Saunders/Corepak). Oversee quality across all converting processes - including slitting, die-cutting, laminating, and repackaging of adhesives - ensuring all finished goods meet customer specifications and internal standards. This role will work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and sales to drive quality performance, resolve customer issues, and support new product launches. This role is expected to adhere to all company policies and safety protocols. Core Responsibilities Required to be Successful as a Quality Manager * Develops, implements, and maintains quality standards and procedures specific to converting operations (slitting, die-cutting, laminating, rewinding, and packaging). * Leads quality systems compliance including ISO 9001 or applicable industry standards; manages internal and external audits. * Oversees Incoming Material Inspection, In-Process Inspection, First Article Inspections (FAI), and Final Inspection processes for converted products. * Drives FMEA, DMAIC, PPAP, and NPI processes in coordination with operations and engineering teams. * Manages non-conforming material (NCM) processes including disposition, root cause analysis, and corrective action (CAPA). * Monitors process capability (CpK) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) data for converting lines; identifies trends and drives improvement actions. * Performs or coordinates Gage R&R studies and ensures calibration of all inspection and measurement equipment. * Leads 8D problem-solving efforts for customer complaints and internal quality escapes; prepares and presents formal corrective action reports. * Maintains and continuously improves the Quality Manual, work instructions, and inspection criteria for converting processes. * Trains and coaches production and quality team members on quality standards, inspection methods, and continuous improvement tools. * Prepares quality performance reports including KPIs, defect trends, yield metrics, and customer satisfaction data. * Partners with sales and customer service teams to address customer quality concerns promptly and professionally. * Supports qualification activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) for new or modified converting equipment. * Manages supplier quality performance and works with suppliers to resolve material and specification-related issues * Performs other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field (Required). * Minimum 5 years of quality management experience in a converting, flexible packaging, or industrial manufacturing environment (Required). * Demonstrated experience with pressure-sensitive materials, films, foams, foils, or specialty tapes preferred. Physical Requirements: * This job operates in a manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard manufacturing equipment, as well as standard office equipment such as computers and phones. * Repetitive use of hands/dexterity to handle and control various manufacturing related tools/controls. * Standing or sitting for prolonged periods. * Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs. * Must be able to work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment. * Close and distant vision, accurate color perception, and peripheral vision are critical. Target Base Compensation range for this non-exempt role is $115,000 - $120,000 annually/DOE. This is a Full-Time position, eligible to participate in the Company's benefit plans including: Paid Time off; major medical, dental, vision; Company paid short-term and long-term disability; paid parental leave; various supplemental benefit plans; and Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP).
