Safety Training Program Manager

The Safety Training Manager is responsible for ensuring workplace safety and compliance for all employees working in the Data Center Business Unit, while leading the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of employee training programs. This position promotes a strong culture of safety, compliance, and professional development to drive operational excellence across the Black Box platform.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create, develop and implement training programs and curriculum for Black Box employees throughout the Data Center business unit. Ensure all training is compliant with federal, state, and local regulations and industry standards.

  • Deliver OSHA 30 and OSHA 10hr training when required at various sites.

  • Participate in developing and implementing new employee orientation for various sites and the initial Black Box new employee training program.

  • Act as a point of contact regarding all training for data center employees with other cross-functional partners.

  • Ensure all training records for data center employees are maintained and updated in an LMS system.

  • Assign required training to Black Box data center employees to meet all certifications and mandatory training requirements.

  • Collaborate with trainers at various Black Box training centers and provide safety curriculum for orientation training.

  • This position is remote but will require 50% travel time.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in performing safety audits, assessments, hazard identification, and proven performance in conducting accident and incident investigations.

  • Experienced in using and assessing LMS applications and safety software.

  • Proven experience (5+ years preferred) managing safety and training programs within construction, warehousing, or data center environments.

  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing training programs and fostering a positive safety culture.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proven knowledge of EHS regulations and standards required.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to assess training needs and identify gaps in current training programs.

  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design.

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite applications.

  • Ability to manage training cadences and maintaining training records.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an EHS-related or education fields of study or a professional BCSP certification with at least 5 years of construction safety experience is required.

  • Certified OSHA trainer for OSHA 30- and 10-hour courses.
