Job Summary:

M1 is looking for an Electrical and Environmental Mechanic
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* May perform maintenance on and certify the airworthiness of the systems in one or more of the following
technical specialty areas: Avionics/instrument, electrical, engine, APG on the assigned
aircraft, environmental, fuel, pneudraulics, structural, egress, weapons loading/release,
and corrosion control.
* May be called upon to prioritize the completion of work in progress.
* Certifies the task qualifications of other employees.
* Responsible for performing and certifying In Progress Inspections (IPI) and clearing red
"X" conditions as required.
* Also responsible for performing and/or evaluating and inspecting work accomplished to ascertain and
certify condition status of components (i.e., NRTS codes, condemnation, PQDR exhibit tags, serviceable
condition tags).
* May perform one or more of the following duties depending upon area of technical specialty: Performs
crew chief, aero repair, and maintenance functions.
* Supervises and assists in launching and recovering aircraft.
* Services, repairs, and overhauls aircraft and aircraft engines to ensure
airworthiness.
* Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures and components.
* Removes and replaces or repairs, and replaces functional components such as surface controls,
plumbing, hydraulic units, electrical units, and environmental units.
* Inspects, troubleshoots, and diagnoses system failures.
* Reads and interprets manufacturers' and Air Force Technical Orders and other specifications to
determine feasibility and methods of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components,
including ordering of correct parts.
* Inspects turbine and compressor blades to detect cracks or breaks.
* Replaces or repairs worn or damaged engine components, such as fuel controls, generators, starters,
and engine case/internal parts.
* Removes, repairs, and reinstalls or replaces engines using hoist or dollies.
* Services aircraft to include fueling, oxygen, oil, greasing moving parts, and checking
brakes.
* May be required to operate engines installed in aircraft or on test cells.
* Uses and maintains appropriate equipment; may perform complete repairs and calibrations to include
total disassembly, repair, and reassembly of equipment and components in accordance with tech data.

* Maintains automated aircraft records including CAMS and/or IMDS documentation of maintenance
actions.
* May be occasionally required to perform duties of lesser skill classification.
* May be required to work in other work sections throughout the contract where individual possesses
required experience, training, and/or certifications.
Qualifications and Experience:
* High school diploma or equivalent is required, mathematics skills are desirable.
* Must speak, read, write, and understand English with the ability to interpret technical data and special
operating instructions in the same language.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a clearance if required.
* Must be able to, if required, obtain, and maintain a government driver's license.
* Member must demonstrate/possess a strong willingness and desire to learn.
Working Conditions:
* Must be physically capable of performing all assigned duties.
* Environment ranges from office to hangar and flight line and requires extensive climbing, standing,
stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands.
