Position Overview

The Facility Manager serves as the primary customer-facing operations leader for assigned data center facilities and is responsible for delivering exceptional customer experience while maintaining the operational readiness, appearance, and functionality of the campus. This role oversees facility maintenance programs, quality/warranty repair coordination, customer support activities, vendor performance, building services, and operational coordination within a mission critical environment.

Acting as a trusted partner to the customer, the Facility Manager works closely with Site Operations, Construction, Engineering, Security, IT, Asset Management, Leasing, and Vendor Management teams to ensure customer needs are addressed efficiently and professionally. The Facility Manager coordinates facility related activities, maintenance programs, customer requests, inspections, warranty repairs, and service delivery while ensuring compliance with operational standards and service level expectations.

The Facility Manager leads Facility Technicians and contracted service providers responsible for building operations, maintenance coordination, inspections, customer support activities, and campus readiness. Success in this position requires strong leadership, communication, customer relationship management, organizational skills, and a solid understanding of mission-critical environments.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations, the Facility Manager plays a critical role in maintaining customer confidence, ensuring campus standards are upheld, and driving operational excellence across a rapidly growing hyperscale campus.

Essential Job Functions and Duties

  • Serve as a primary operational point of contact for assigned customers and develop trusted working relationships that support a positive customer experience.

  • Lead customer-facing facility management activities while supporting overall campus operational objectives.

  • Coordinate and manage customer requests, concerns, facility issues, and service-related activities to ensure timely resolution and communication.

  • Oversee maintenance, repair, and lifecycle management activities for campus common areas, building exteriors, office spaces, amenities, and structural building components.

  • Coordinate warranty and quality-related repair activities with internal stakeholders, contractors, developers, and equipment manufacturers.

  • Track and drive resolution of warranty claims, construction-related deficiencies, punch list items, and customer-reported quality concerns.

  • Lead a team of Facility Technicians responsible for building maintenance, customer support services, inspections, and campus operational readiness.

  • Develop team capabilities through coaching, training, mentorship, and performance management.

  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, service agreements, and on-site service providers to ensure safe, high-quality, and cost-effective service delivery.

  • Coordinate vendor activities to minimize customer impact and maintain compliance with campus operational requirements.

  • Audit and oversee execution of maintenance programs for critical facility infrastructure to ensure compliance with company standards, contractual obligations, and operational expectations.

  • Partner with Site Operations leadership to monitor infrastructure performance, reliability initiatives, and customer-impacting maintenance activities.

  • Coordinate cross-functional support efforts involving Operations, Construction, Engineering, Security, IT, Asset Management, Leasing, and other campus stakeholders.

  • Facilitate communication and planning for customer projects, move-ins, expansions, upgrades, and operational changes.

  • Participate in customer meetings, operational reviews, site walks, and project coordination meetings.

  • Monitor key performance metrics and service-level commitments to ensure customer expectations are consistently met.

  • Support budget development, forecasting, expense management, and vendor cost control initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, environmental requirements, safety programs, and regulatory standards.

  • Support response efforts for customer-facing facility issues and coordinate resources through resolution.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on customer experience, operational efficiency, and campus service delivery.

  • Develop and maintain operational documentation, procedures, service standards, and communication plans.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years, 7+ preferred, experience in facilities management, mission-critical operations, commercial property operations, building engineering, or data center environments.

  • Minimum 2 years, 3+ preferred, of leadership experience managing facilities personnel, vendors, contractors, or operational teams.

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

  • Data center or mission-critical facility management experience preferred.

  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM), FMP, RPA, CPM, PMP, or similar professional certification preferred.

  • Experience serving in a customer-facing role supporting large enterprise, hyperscale, or mission-critical environments.

  • Strong understanding of building systems, facility maintenance practices, construction warranty processes, and vendor management.

  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and driving issue resolution across multiple stakeholders.

  • Experience overseeing operational service delivery and maintenance programs in large-scale facilities.

  • Knowledge of critical facility infrastructure including electrical distribution, cooling systems, generators, UPS systems, fire protection, and building management systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships and deliver exceptional service.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

  • Strong technical writing skills and experience developing operational documentation and training programs

  • Experience managing budgets, service contracts, procurement activities, and vendor performance.

  • Proficiency with CMMS, work order management systems, and operational reporting tools.

  • Strong communication, presentation, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and customer commitments simultaneously.

  • Must successfully complete a background check.

  • Travel may be required up to 10% but may increase as business needs evolve.

  • Typical Working Hours: Monday to Friday 7:00am-4:00pm
