Paid Time Off:

Position Description

Starting Hourly Wage: $38.46 - $52.88/hour; depending on experience

Location: Boise, Idaho

Classification: Non-exempt

Position Overview:

The Safety Coordinator supports the development, implementation, and evaluation of safety programs to promote a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Partner with leadership to develop and maintain safety policies and procedures.
  2. Assess the effectiveness of safety initiatives and recommend improvements.
  3. Contribute to enhancements of safety programs, including emergency preparedness, accident prevention, and risk management.
  4. Identify opportunities to reduce workplace injuries, incidents, and health risks.
  5. Share environmental and safety-related information across the organization.
  6. Monitor and report safety metrics to relevant stakeholders.
  7. Conduct audits and reviews to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
  8. Evaluate safety training programs and recommend updates or improvements.
  9. Support delivery of New Hire Safety Orientation as needed.
  10. Coordinate scheduling for safety-related training such as OSHA 30, OSHA 500, First Aid, and other required sessions.
  11. Maintain accurate records of completed safety certifications and continuing education units (CEUs).
  12. Perform other safety and compliance duties as assigned.
Position Requirements

Required Skills and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of safety protocols and emergency response procedures.
  2. Understanding of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and organizational safety policies.
  3. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Ability to facilitate engaging and accessible training sessions.
  5. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  1. Associate degree required.
  2. Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or a related field preferred.
  3. Minimum of three years of relevant experience preferred.
  4. Advanced safety training or certification preferred.

Required Licensing and Other Certifications:

  1. Maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
