Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant

Role:

To assist customers with their loan applications; facilitate processing and loan closings; provide administrative support to MLOs, enabling him or her to focus on the core responsibilities of the job.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

E 25% Inputs mortgage loan applications for portfolio and secondary market mortgage loans.

E 25% Works with the mortgage loan originators to review LE's and 1003's before disclosures. To obtain proper disclosures and supporting documentation necessary to prepare the application for submission to set-up, processing and underwriting. Orders appraisals, flood certifications and title work from the service providers to insure the closing dates are met.

E 20% Works closely with the Sales Manager with Current pipeline and MLO pipeline. Set up Sales meetings and weekly MLO meetings.

E 20% Training and mentoring existing and new Mortgage Loan Originators.

E 5% Extends rates and relocks. Sends out proper documentation for re-disclosures.

N 5% Performs other duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements:

1. To comply with the letter and with the spirit of the bank's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

2. To maintain the confidentiality of customer and any other sensitive information.

3. To be punctual and have regular attendance.

4. To complete required training and undertake additional training as needed to increase job knowledge and maximize productivity.

5. To ensure mortgage loan documents and reports are prepared efficiently and in a timely manner.

6. To maintain an excellent knowledge of financial services offered by the bank; to be knowledgeable of competitors' services.

7. To maintain a professional, courteous, and friendly atmosphere for customers and co-workers.

8. To acquire and maintain a working knowledge of regulations and bank procedures. To comply with the provisions of the Bank Secrecy Act and other laws and regulations

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience Five years to eight years of similar or related experience.

Education A high school education or GED.

Interpersonal Skills Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.

Other Skills Must have good communication skills, ten key calculator, typwriter, keyboard skills, and computer skills.

Physical Requirements The person in this position needs to frequently move about inside the office to interact with associates or clients and access office machinery and file cabinets. The person in the position constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, photocopier, and printer.

Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as calculators, computers, phones, photocopier, filing cabinets and fax machines.
