Job Summary: The Senior Operations Engineer will join the team responsible for the Firm's IT systems, services, data centers, and operations. This position is responsible for the analysis, recommendation, and execution of support and maintenance plans for these systems to maximize Firm-wide productivity and minimize disruptions, with a focus on on-premises and cloud infrastructure. The Senior Operations Engineer will play a pivotal role on the Firm's Tier 3 Operations team and help maintain a culture of superior client service and continuous improvement. Job Functions:
- Supports the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Firm's IT systems.
- Maintains the Firm's on-premises and cloud environments, including modern applications, servers, and supporting infrastructure.
- Works closely with the IT Operations Director to:
- Oversee IT service delivery with respect to infrastructure, including service design, service operation, and continuous service improvements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain operational technology strategies, policies, and standards.
- Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery plans and procedures, including regular reviews and real-world tests.
- Collects core system metrics to develop and implement improvement plans based on analysis of data.
- Partners with the IT Operations Director and other stakeholders to improve operational procedures, IT processes, and the security and performance of existing systems.
- Communicates and collaborates with other departments to report and resolve software, hardware, and operational issues.
- Researches and evaluates new technologies; identifies and recommends solutions to improve operational efficiency.
- Provides 24/7 on-call support for Tier 3 escalations and problem triage for IT services on a rotating basis.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of related IT experience with a particular focus on supporting business-critical IT infrastructure in a professional services environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Microsoft, cloud, and networking certifications are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of virtualization, hyperconverged infrastructure, cloud services, and networking.
- Experience with deployment, configuration, and management of systems using automation.
- Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, or comparable languages.
- The ideal candidate will also have proven experience working with several of the technologies currently in use at the Firm, including:
- Virtualization infrastructure, including Nutanix, AHV, or other hyperconverged technology.
- Physical hardware, including HPE, Supermicro, and APC.
- Data protection systems, including Cohesity.
- Active Directory, including Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
- Server operating systems, including Windows and Linux.
- Server and application monitoring platforms, including ManageEngine.
- Databases, including Microsoft SQL and PostgreSQL.
- Microsoft 365, including Exchange, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
- Demonstrated analytical capability in solving new and complex problems.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently, while having good judgment as to when consultation is required.
- Ability to set priorities and complete diverse assignments on a timely basis.
- Superior oral and written communication skills.

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below and represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the salary range for this specific position at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to qualifications and experience, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.
