Duration: 6 months

Work schedule: Monday - Friday (8AM - 5PM)



Job Description:


Our HR team is committed to creating an engaged workplace that supports company performance. Payroll Operations play a key role in that commitment by ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time, maintaining compliance across multiple entities and jurisdictions, and supporting payroll tax filings and general ledger reconciliations. The team also helps improve the employee experience through self-service tools, automation, and ongoing service-level reviews.

As a Payroll Specialist, you will support daily and bi-weekly payroll activities while helping the team meet strict processing deadlines. In this role, you will perform accurate payroll calculations, research and resolve employee inquiries, communicate payroll information clearly, and assist with payroll projects and process improvements as needed.

Preferred Experience:

* Communicating clearly and professionally with employees, managers, and business partners to resolve payroll questions and provide timely support.

* Applying strong attention to detail and analytical skills to ensure payroll data, calculations, and corrections are accurate.

* Supporting payroll processes, including garnishment backup, ACH reject review, off-cycle payments, and paycheck or pay slip distribution.

* Using sound business judgment to understand payroll impacts, identify issues, and determine when escalation to payroll leadership is needed.

* Researching and resolving ServiceNow cases related to earnings, taxes, deductions, timekeeping, and absence.

* Maintaining, analyzing, and preparing monthly payroll metrics and reports for review.

* Contributing to special projects, process improvements, and other payroll duties as assigned.

* Collaborating effectively as part of a team while also managing individual responsibilities and deadlines.

Required:

* 3+ years of full-cycle, multi-state payroll processing experience.

* Experience with Workday Payroll, timekeeping, or absence management.

* Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy, quality, and timely completion of work.

* Certified Payroll Professional certification preferred.

* Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a closely related field preferred.

* Experience using payroll systems and data query tools to research, analyze, and resolve payroll issues.

* Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis.

* Knowledge of federal and state payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.

* Ability to collaborate effectively with others while also working independently to meet deadlines.

* Demonstrated ability to set priorities, meet performance goals, and deliver high-quality results.

* Continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to evaluate information and resolve complex issues.

* Proven success working in both team-oriented and independent environments.
