Licensed Psychologist - Wernersville State Hospital

This position plays a key role in assessing, treating, and supporting consumers receiving psychiatric and rehabilitative services. The work contributes to safe, effective care that meets individual needs and enhances quality of life. As a Licensed Psychologist, you will perform the following duties:

• Assessment Expertise: Conduct diagnostic, intellectual, educational, and readiness evaluations using accepted clinical methods
• Therapeutic Support: Provide individual and group psychotherapy using approaches suited to each consumer's level of functioning
• Program Development: Design and deliver DBT remotivation and cognitive remediation programs in collaboration with other disciplines
• Risk Evaluation: Complete patient risk assessments, crisis plans, and behavioral plans following hospital-approved procedures
• Team Collaboration: Participate in multidisciplinary treatment teams, contribute clinical insight, implement assigned treatment elements, and provide direct care
• Documentation Accuracy: Record assessment results, therapy progress, and treatment recommendations in accordance with hospital and Medicare standards

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
• Overtime and travel as needed
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirement:

• You must possess a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology.
  
  

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
  
  

Legal Requirements:

• You must pass a background investigation.
• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
