Description

Under the supervision of the Clinical Director and Practice Manager, provide direct nursing care, infusion therapy, and comprehensive documentation of care in the Evaluation and Treatment Center (ETC). Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Triage patient complaints and determine appropriate level of care.
  • Perform patient assessments and evaluations for both adult and pediatric populations.
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Evaluation and Treatment Center.
  • Prepare and administer intravenous medications, drugs, and fluids.
  • Administer immunizations in accordance with established protocols.
  • Monitor patients receiving infusion therapy and assess for treatment response and adverse reactions.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding treatments, medications, follow-up care, and health management.
  • Provide psychosocial support to patients and families as needed.
  • Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and provide guidance to licensed and unlicensed staff members.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe, effective, and timely patient care.
  • Assume the Charge Nurse role during non-standard business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Maintain compliance with nursing standards, organizational policies, and applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
Salary Range: $76.59-106.80/hourly
Qualifications

Required:


  • Current
    California RN License
  • BSN or MSN
  • BLS
    from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • 3
    years ER, Acute Care or Urgent Care and Pediatric Experience
  • Knowledge
    of the Adult and Pediatric patient population and practice operations
  • Knowledge
    of all aspects procedures and medication administration in an urgent care
    setting
  • Ability
    to assume direct involvement and provide backup support during clinic
    emergencies and in patient related problem solving
  • Ability
    to organize, prioritize, and follow through for multiple patient
    treatments
  • Phlebotomy
    and IV skills
  • Skill
    in performing with frequent interruptions an/or distractions including the
    ability to accept equivocal circumstances and respond and adapt to
    changing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability
    to utilize appropriate interpersonal skills in all interactions
  • Ability
    to accept direction and promptly follow through on other duties as
    assigned with minimal supervision
  • Experience
    and knowledge to accurately screen and triage acute patients
  • Knowledge
    and experience to recognize abnormal laboratory values and respond
  • Demonstrated
    ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with
    patients, peers, physicians and administrators
  • Skill
    in listening perceptively, conveying awareness and responding to patients
    and visitors with health concerns using tact and discretion
  • Ability
    to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with patients, their
    families, and general public in a high volume, clinical setting
  • Ability
    to maintain equanimity in the face of resistance, indifference, and hostility
  • Ability
    to maintain confidentiality and to work with sensitive and confidential
    information using discretion and judgment.



Preferred:



  • Possession of PICC line certification
  • Knowledge
    and skill in Central line Catheter management and access
  • Skill
    in usage of medical diagnostic equipment, as well as working knowledge of
    instruments and supplies required to perform necessary blood tests and
    procedures
  • Working
    knowledge of the UCLA registration system, appointment scheduling system
    and order entry system
