Start Date 08/31/2026 Contract Sheppard Aircraft Maintenance Salary Range $48.79/Hour Posting Date 08/10 /2026 Union Yes FLSA Status Non-Exempt Shift Work 3rd FT/PT Full-time Relocation No Travel Possible Job Summary: M1 is looking for an Avionics Specialist, Senior, who will maintain communications/navigation instrument systems in accordance with technical data requirements. Perform tasks under minimum supervision. Coordinate maintenance activities with senior shop personnel as required. Assist the lead person in supervising the maintenance activities of assigned personnel. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: * Maintains and inspects T-6 and T-38 comm/nav and instrument systems Operates ground support equipment. * Uses technical orders in isolating faults and repairing assigned equipment. * Open/remove and close/install all aircraft panels, excluding those panels requiring Command and Response, and related system component. to include T-38 windscreens to perform specialist maintenance. * Participates in and ensures compliance with established FOD prevention housekeeping, tool control, environmental and safety programs. * Completes and ensures completion of all necessary manual and automated records requiring by USAF and Company directives. * In coordination with the section supervisor and the training specialist provides on-the-job training of new employees. * Assists and instructs less skilled personnel in correct maintenance procedures. Assists section lead and in his/her absence performs theduties of the lead as required. * Follows technical data, manuals, regulations, and other maintenance directives as required. * Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications and Experience: Knowledge - A working knowledge of aircraft comm/nav and instrument system is required. The ability to interpret and apply information on schematic diagrams, drawings and charts for faults isolation and repair of assigned systems and system subassemblies is required. Education - Completion of high school or equivalent is required. Completion of specialized courses is desired. The ability to read and write and to interpret technical data is required. Experience - A minimum of four (4) years' experience in the repair of aircraft comm/nav and instrument systems is required. Experience will include troubleshooting systems to component level and repairing mechanical and electro- mechanical components. Also, experience will include repairing line replaceable units to component level (i.e. conductor repair and component removal and replacement to include applicable soldering procedures and precautions). Page 2 of 2 Special Conditions - Good verbal and written skills and leadership ability are required. Must be able to lift a minimum weight of 50 lbs., stand for prolonged periods of time, and have the ability to climb ladders and stairs. Normal color vision is required. Possession of a valid driver's license is necessary to obtain flight line driving privileges.
