Job Profile Summary:

Experienced incumbent is responsible for all facets of land management duties related to subsurface rights and operations in a particular, high profile, geographic area, including, but not limited to: negotiating and drafting complex land agreements. Developing and executing land strategies. Performing in-depth and detailed land related research. Working closely with government officials and possibly testifying at oil and gas commission hearings. Conducting due diligence for acquisitions, divestitures and trades. Building and maintaining relationships with our internal land administration group and helping with title curative work.

Job Description:

* Reviews, evaluates and assimilates opportunities to acquire land or operating and drilling rights

* Negotiates, writes, reviews and amends agreements, such as farm-in/farm-outs, term assignments,

joint operating agreements and many other detailed agreements

* Works with land administration and support personnel to maintain accurate land records

* Keeps abreast of regulatory provisions, trending practices, land values in order to add value and

maintain compliance with contractual requirements and obligations

* Works with integrated Geology and Engineering team to evaluate acquisition targets

* Reviews and makes recommendations regarding property and asset divestitures and acquisitions

* Other tasks as assigned

Skills and Experience:

* BLM and State of New Mexico relations * AAPL certification preferred

* Working knowledge of unconventional/conventional resource plays preferred

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary

* Strong interpersonal, negotiation and problem solving skills are necessary

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point)

* Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task with attention to accuracy

* A proven team player that possess the ability to adapt to a changing and fast paced work

environment

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Land/Energy Management or related field required.

Years of Experience:

5+ Years of experience

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

Work is typically performed indoors in an office environment. Incumbents must be able to perform work which includes typing, sitting and standing. In the event that incumbent visits operations worksite, personal protection equipment, including head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA and DOT requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.

Travel Requirements:

10%-15% - Travel will be required for mandatory meetings, training and visits to field locations.
