Adult Blood Lead Epidemiology Surveillance Intern (College)

This internship supports key surveillance and outreach work that helps identify and reduce adult lead exposure in Pennsylvania. As an Adult Blood Lead Epidemiology Surveillance Intern, you will perform the following duties:

• Interview Support: Conduct phone interviews with affected employees to identify possible sources of lead exposure
• Data Entry: Enter survey responses and lab information into designated systems such as Survey123 and PA-NEDSS
• Report Preparation: Prepare mailers and organize faxed lab reports for accurate data processing
• Data Analysis: Assist with reviewing survey results and creating data visualizations using Microsoft Excel and RStudio
• Outreach Development: Help design and distribute educational materials for employers and workers in lead-related industries
• Emergency Response: Assist with public health emergency assignments as needed

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• This is a part-time internship for a duration of up to one year, starting in August or September 2026.
• Flexible work hours, Monday - Friday, with a minimum of 20 hours per week
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. QUALIFICATIONS
Internship Requirements:

• You must be currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor's degree program or higher.
• You must have good academic standing (as defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher).
• You must hold Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university.

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
