SUMMARY

Working under the general supervision of the Warehouse/Shipping Supervisor, following specific procedures, performs a variety of duties to accomplish the shipment of all finished goods and the receipt of all purchased materials. Incumbent must be capable of filling in for Supervisor during periods of absences while maintaining high quality standards.

Individual will also assist other shipping personnel with load preparation, inventory counts, inventory status assessment, unloading raw materials and other duties as required by the Shipping Supervisor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Sets an exemplary example for Shipping Operators to follow as to safe work habits, positive attitude, and focus on company goals.
  • Perform the primary thinking encompassed by this job description.
  • Must have experience in safely and efficiently loading finished goods on trucks. Must also know how to pick orders within the warehouse for supplemental parts.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Safely and efficiently receive purchased materials in the absence of the Receiving Clerk.
  • Coordinate trucks with shipments including customer pickups.
  • Assist with inventory cycle counts weekly.
  • Assist with counting of all incoming purchased parts for accuracy of orders.
  • Must understand the TMS system and be able to schedule trucks.
  • Prioritize and schedule workflow within logistics with interaction with Customer Service and plant production.
  • Assist with maintain and update weekly inventories, receiving logs, load sheets and other related shipping and receiving documents in the absence of Supervisor
  • Must know how to conduct inventories.
  • Provides training and assistance to Shipping Operators.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions in English. Communication skills (written and verbal) and be able to work well with operators, shift leaders an office personnel. Shares information with co-workers as needed.
  • Ability to read a tape measure, add and subtract two-digit numbers, plus use calculator. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with SAP strongly preferred.
