Your responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

Efficient management of the Ring Rolling Mill and operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Arrive 20 minutes prior to shift change. Changeover includes walk around the shop to discuss relevant issues and communicate with employees where appropriate.
  • All relevant information must be summarized daily and noted on communications board, e.g. safety, machine production personnel issues and MRB information.
  • Provide reports for production planning meetings, advising status of production orders.
  • Ensure all production KPI's are achieved and corrective actions are taken if necessary.
  • Review the production situation and assign work to the line and departments.
  • See that operators on all production equipment have the necessary material, tool and instructions to set up and run the job.
  • Handle matters of additions, deletions, rush and emergency orders affecting the schedule.
  • Investigate defective work with Quality Assurance & Engineering or others to determine disposition.
  • Establish daily line schedules with furnace priorities.
  • Program furnaces as required to meet line schedule.
  • See that work is kept ahead of equipment and help operators as necessary, including training new operators.
  • Insure that periodic checks are made at the workstations so the operators are meeting the production, quality and safety standards.
  • Interview applicants to fill shop vacancies.
  • Administer Company employee personnel policies, rules and regulations.
  • Issue shop-floor work centers with scheduled requirements to meet the company's production program.
  • Efficiently manage the man hours to meet the production during periods of absence and holidays.
  • Address poor performance or unauthorized absence through the disciplinary procedure.
  • Participate in weekly Production & CI meetings and assist production planning with required actions.
  • Assist with the implementation of new tooling and technology.
  • Ensure all operations have the correct production times.
  • Ensure the plant is fully secured and all equipment is turned off where appropriate during times when the shop is closed are you are on the last shift.
  • Maintain and control shop floor reporting, such as S2QDC, 6S and visual management boards and staging areas.
  • Liaise with the Company's sub-contractors.
  • Will be an active participant of the safety committee meeting. Enforce safety regulations.

SKILLS, ABILITIES & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Must have knowledge of Lean principles and practices. Proficient in Microsoft Office products. High school diploma or GED and 1 - 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience in a union environment a plus.

EXPORT CONTROL: This position requires access to export-controlled technical data or technology. Employment is contingent upon thyssenkrupp's ability to obtain any required export authorization from the appropriate government agency or agencies.

SALARY RANGE: $70,000 - $80,000
