ABOUT THE JOB

The Distribution Business Manager is responsible for driving profitable sales growth through the management and expansion of distribution channel relationships. This role develops and executes account growth strategies, identifies new business opportunities, and leverages product, market, and customer insights to increase revenue, margin, and market share within assigned accounts and territories.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Manage and grow existing distribution accounts to achieve sales, margin, and profitability objectives
  • Grow profitability of distribution accounts with margin management additional products, and increase current products volumes
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within distributor organizations.
  • Identify, develop, and secure new distribution accounts
  • Assess competitors by analyzing and summarizing competitor information trends to identify new sales opportunities
  • Provide regular market intelligence and business insights to leadership regarding competitor activity, customer needs, and emerging industry trends.
  • Complete monthly reports and market summaries for distribution accounts
  • Perform customer needs assessments to cultivate additional business
  • Provide technical support to distribution customers as appropriate
  • Research and source potential customers using various resources including phone, internet, professional networking, etc.
  • Update job knowledge by studying new product descriptions and participating in educational opportunities
  • Work closely with Operations and Sourcing to ensure distribution customer base is supplied with products on time
  • Utilize CRM to enhance internal information sharing


                ABOUT YOU:



                • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Chemistry, and Chemical Engineering, a related field or equivalent experience
                • Strong oral and written communication skills
                • 5+ years of experience in key account or distribution account sales management
                • Experience in water treatment chemical industry or related chemical industries preferred
                • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships across Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Leadership teams.
                • Ability to identify key contacts within accounts to further selling cycle
                • Demonstrated ability to align customer needs with company capabilities and value propositions to drive business growth.
                • Strong negotiation skills
                • Ability to gain supplier and customer trust
                • Valid driver's license in good standing
                • Results-oriented with a demonstrated track record of achieving or exceeding sales and profitability goals.


                PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

                Ability to work in an office setting

                TRAVEL

                50% or more

                Expected Compensation: $120,000-160,000/year. + Commission
