MASTER DATA SPECIALIST The Opportunity
As a Master Data Specialist, you will support the Sales function by ensuring customer master data is accurate, complete, and established in a timely manner. You will process requests for new customer records and updates to existing Sold-To, Bill-To, and Ship-To accounts, review and verify customer documentation, submit and track requests through the MDG system, and maintain customer records in applicable systems. The role involves working closely with Sales to address customer master data questions, provide guidance on account selection for order entry, and help ensure requests are submitted correctly. You will also identify data quality issues, support data cleansing activities, assist with process documentation, and contribute to improvements in customer setup workflows. By enabling accurate customer records and efficient order-to-cash processes, this role helps support reliable business operations and the effective use of systems and process enhancements that contribute to ongoing improvement.
How You'll Make an Impact
Process requests to create and update customer master data records, including Sold-To, Bill-To, and Ship-To accounts.
Validate required data fields and ensure alignment with internal standards and naming conventions.
Maintain accurate customer records in the MDG system and other applicable tools.
Review and verify customer documentation in accordance with company policies and compliance guidelines.
Submit and track customer master data requests through the MDG system and follow up on pending approvals or issues.
Serve as a point of contact for Sales regarding customer master data requests, status updates, and account selection for order entry.
Identify data quality issues and support data cleansing, standardization, validation, and process improvement activities.
Assist with testing, validation, and documentation of customer master data processes and related system changes.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your Background
Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience in master data, customer setup, order management, sales operations, or order-to-cash support preferred.
Experience working with MDG systems, ERP tools, CRM tools, or similar platforms is a plus.
Ability to learn and navigate MDG, ERP, and related systems, including SAP and CRM platforms.
Clear communication skills and the ability to work closely with Sales and cross-functional stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple requests, maintain data accuracy and completeness, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
