Summary Sunoco LP is looking for a Senior Accountant to join the fast growing Midstream Operational Accounting team! Sunoco LP is one of America's largest and most efficient terminalling and storage providers. This individual will perform a variety of accounting functions including, but not limited to: Assist with financial analysis of Sunoco LP midstream terminal locations, including inventory, margin and operating expenses Work with internal and external customers to research accounting variances, disputes and complex transactions Assist with purchase accounting and integration efforts on Sunoco mergers and acquisitions Compiling and preparing of intermediate to high level/technical journal entries to general ledger accounts Assist management with ad hoc projects and process improvements Ensure compliance with SOX controls Apply the financial policies and procedures of the organization and inform management of inconsistencies and problems. Performs audit tasks, as well as various duties and projects assigned by management Serves customers by maintaining our philosophy of going above and beyond, supported by a value proposition that every situation will be handled in a timely manner Represents Company interests with the highest standards of professionalism. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below: Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of related experience. Prior fuel inventory and general ledger accounting experience preferred Strong experience in SAP S/4 FIORI/Winshuttle. Experience working with Right Angle preferred IFRS and US GAAP preferred Strong analytic and data analysis skills required, especially MS Excel. Must display good judgment and be able to work independently, as needed. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. Must be flexible, adaptable and have a high level of initiative. Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level: The Accountant/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience The Senior Accountant/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience The Lead Accountant/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant job related experience Working Conditions: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Usually, normal office working conditions. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
