Day & Zimmermann is currently seeking a Night Shift Field Accounting Manager to support upcoming Fall Outage in Waterford, CT.


A Field Accounting Manager is responsible for various field-based transactional accounting functions including timekeeping, payroll processing support, and billing support, along with other associated internal and customer reporting and office administration activities.

As the Field Accounting Manager (FAM), here's the work you'll do:



  • Responsible for and coordinates time entry including balancing and reconciliation of daily or weekly time sheets to accountability program and SAP calculations and processing. Duties include collecting time submitted for employees and reviewing for accuracy and approval. Responsible for accuracy and balancing of time entry input.
  • Performs and coordinates employee setup and terminations, onboarding and support functions, including all hiring information, W4's, and direct deposits for craft and temporary staff employees. Maintain and update union rates, and process on demand layoff checks.
  • Responsible for client invoicing. Prepare client invoice and review final billing for accuracy and process corrections as needed.
  • Establishes and maintains site specific procedures related to these functions. Interfaces with Corporate Accounting to ensure control and integrity of transactional field accounting and administrative processes

This role is for you if you have these skills:

  • Experience in to developing and maintaining productive relationships with clients and employees. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to apply concrete financial analysis concepts beyond simple adherence to detailed procedures and instructions, recommending solutions to unique issues.
  • Overall understanding of payroll, billing, contract set-up and compliance, including A/R, A/P and fringe processes is required.
  • Highly organized with the ability to effectively and efficiently multi-task with strong detail orientation and with the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines. Advanced proficiency using Microsoft suite and knowledge of SAP or other ERP system preferred.
  • Demonstrates leadership and supervisory skills.

And if you have these qualifications:

  • Associates degree in related field of study or equal years of related work experience in a Maintenance/Modification or Construction environment.
  • 5+ Years Experience in a Maintenance/Modification or Construction Environment with Payroll/Accounting
  • Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office, Excel, SAP, TempHemp, E-Onboarding and/or other proprietary software required
  • Availability to work onsite, overtime and off hours


In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $60,000 - $104,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, scheduler type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
