Head of Off-Platform & Omnichannel Revenue Strategy
About the Role:
USA TODAY Co. is seeking a Head of Off-Platform & Omnichannel Revenue Strategy to lead the commercial vision, monetization strategy, packaging, and go-to-market approach for audiences beyond our core owned-and-operated properties. This leader will be responsible for identifying and scaling revenue opportunities across social platforms, video, audio, podcasts, newsletters, creator ecosystems, and emerging distribution channels, while enabling sales teams with the products, insights, positioning, and tools necessary to maximize revenue growth.
This role serves as the strategic bridge between Content, Audience, Product, Research, Get Creative, Sales, and Content Monetization, creating repeatable commercial frameworks that transform audience engagement across platforms into scalable revenue opportunities. The role carries meaningful revenue accountability and ownership for the growth of USA TODAY Co.'s off-platform and omnichannel monetization business while complementing existing sales coverage.
The ideal candidate is equal parts strategist, operator, and commercial leader. They understand how advertisers buy, how audiences engage across platforms, and how to align content, product, sales, and operational teams around a shared revenue vision.
This role is remote and can be based anywhere in the US, except for Alaska, Hawaii and Wyoming.
Responsibilities:
Revenue Strategy & Business Growth
- Own the overall monetization strategy for off-platform and omnichannel audiences across social, video, audio, podcasts, newsletters, creator ecosystems, distributed platforms, and emerging media channels.
- Establish growth priorities, revenue goals, and strategic initiatives that drive meaningful incremental revenue.
- Identify new monetization opportunities, sponsorship models, and emerging revenue streams across multimedia platforms and audience touchpoints.
- Develop long-term business plans that align audience growth, advertiser demand, content strategy, and platform evolution.
- Partner with Sales leadership, Finance, Product, and Content Monetization to establish revenue targets, business forecasts, and performance metrics.
Commercial Packaging & Go-to-Market Leadership
- Lead the development of scalable commercial products, sponsorship opportunities, and integrated omnichannel solutions.
- Build compelling packaging across newsletters, podcasts, social franchises, video programming, tentpole moments, creator-led initiatives, and cross-platform storytelling opportunities.
- Define pricing strategies, positioning, market narratives, and sales frameworks for off-platform revenue opportunities.
- Translate audience insights, platform capabilities, and advertiser demand into sellable products and repeatable commercial programs.
- Continuously refine packaging and commercialization approaches based on marketplace feedback, performance results, and competitive intelligence.
Sales Enablement & Commercial Adoption
- Serve as the commercial enablement leader for all off-platform and omnichannel monetization efforts.
- Equip sales teams with the training, tools, audience insights, positioning materials, case studies, and best practices needed to successfully sell multimedia opportunities.
- Partner with account teams on strategic opportunities, helping shape solutions, sponsorship structures, and advertiser recommendations.
- Develop scalable sales playbooks and go-to-market processes that improve adoption and revenue performance across the organization.
- Act as a trusted advisor to sales leadership on off-platform revenue opportunities, market trends, and commercial strategy.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Lead collaboration across Sales, Editorial, Audience, Product, Get Creative, Research, Legal, Finance, Operations, and Content Monetization.
- Establish clear processes and governance models that improve speed-to-market and support scalable execution.
- Improve visibility into upcoming editorial tentpoles, social franchises, newsletters, podcasts, video series, and other monetizable opportunities.
- Align stakeholders around shared commercial priorities, sponsorship opportunities, and revenue goals.
- Create strong feedback loops between market demand, advertiser needs, audience opportunities, and internal product development.
Inventory, Planning & Performance Management
- Maintain visibility into available sponsorship inventory, commercial opportunities, franchise roadmaps, and platform capabilities.
- Track revenue performance, adoption metrics, pipeline influence, and commercialization effectiveness.
- Identify and remove barriers to growth across product readiness, workflow design, inventory management, pricing, packaging, activation, and measurement.
- Deliver regular business updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Champion a data-driven approach to decision making and revenue optimization.
Innovation & Market Leadership
- Stay at the forefront of trends across social platforms, creator ecosystems, video, audio, newsletters, AI-influenced content environments, and emerging advertising models.
- Identify new partnerships, platform opportunities, and revenue models that expand USA TODAY Co.'s monetization capabilities.
- Partner with internal teams to pilot, test, and scale innovative commercial concepts.
- Help position USA TODAY Co. as a market leader in multiplatform and audience-first advertising solutions.
