JOB SUMMARY

The Staff Research Associate position in the area of PET image analysis is available within the UCSF Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging.

Under general supervision and guidance from the supervisor, Dr. Youngho Seo, the successful candidate will perform PET image data analysis focusing on evaluating metabolic or other functional changes in the brain for neurological or neuropsychiatric disorders. The candidate will implement community-standard brain PET image analysis methods, evaluate the robustness of the analysis pipeline, and provide the image analysis. The candidate will also perform drafting journal manuscripts for any publishable results from the data analysis.

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in a related science (neuroscience or neuroimaging); and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Previous exposure to biomedical imaging or radiation research

  • Experience with scientific publication

  • Demonstrated record of reliability and excellent attendance to details

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working as a collaborative research team member

  • Proven record of timely communications

  • Experience in extensive preclinical or clinical biomedical research

  • Ability to analyze imaging data

  • Knowledge of image analysis software
