3rd Shift Brake Press Operator (Mayville)

Metalcraft of Mayville is looking for a skilled and dependable Brake Press Operator to join our manufacturing team!

In this role, you'll set up and operate Cincinnati hydraulic CNC press brakes to form metal parts according to blueprints and production specifications. You'll select and install tooling, inspect completed parts, and make adjustments to ensure quality and accuracy in our fast-paced, just-in-time manufacturing environment.

We're looking for someone with a background in metal forming or fabrication who is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and ready to grow their skills in press brake operation.

Set up and operate Cincinnati hydraulic CNC press brakes and punch press equipment

• Select the correct tooling based on job requirements and setup documentation

• Load, install, and properly set up tooling with assistance as needed

• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and production specifications

• Measure completed parts to verify dimensions and quality requirements

• Complete assigned work according to established production and quality standards

• Enter production time and completed work into our computer data collection system

• Safely operate a forklift to move materials and completed parts

• Identify and troubleshoot basic manufacturing or forming issues

• Report material, production, equipment, and quality concerns

• Maintain equipment performance logs and communicate maintenance needs

• Participate in operator-level preventative maintenance

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

• Assist other operators or production areas as needed

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment; 1+ year preferred

• Experience with metal forming, fabrication, hydraulic presses, punch presses, or similar equipment preferred

• Basic knowledge of press brake setup and operation is a plus

• High school diploma or GED

• Basic ability to read and understand blueprints and shop drawings

• Basic shop math skills

• Ability to perform dimensional measurements and learn to use precision measuring tools

• Ability to safely operate a forklift

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work with various metal-forming requirements and specifications

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work efficiently

• Ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing production needs

• Strong teamwork and communication skills

• Previous overhead crane experience is a plus

• Experience in a Lean manufacturing environment is a plus

Work Environment

Regularly exposed to varying temperature conditions between 60-100 degrees Fahrenheit, loud noise, moving machinery parts, airborne particles, and fumes from production equipment.
