Position description Part-Time Lecturer: Korean Studies, Winter or Spring 2027 The Department of East Asian Studies at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for the position of part-time lecturer to teach one or two courses in Winter 2027 or Spring 2027. Candidates may teach courses that ranges from premodern to contemporary Korean society, literature, intellectual history, and culture. Winter quarter service period: 1/4/2027-3/19/2027 Winter quarter pay period: 1/1/2027-3/31/2027 Spring quarter service period: 3/24/2027-6/11/2027 Spring quarter pay period: 4/1/2027-6/30/2027 The annual full-time teaching load is eight courses per year with a full-time annual starting salary of $73,817 ($9,227 per course). The total salary for a one-course appointment for first-time lecturers in the Department of East Asian Studies is $9,227. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Korean Studies or related field by the time of appointment.
