TRC is seeking highly motivated and diverse Environmental Interns for our Summer 2027 intern program out of our West Allis, WI Office. This is a paid full-time position. Anticipated duration will be from June through August 2027 (flexible).

This position has the potential to transition into a Full-Time role upon graduation. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Project Managers and Team Leaders and partner with engineers, scientists, and technologists.

• The internship will require a combination of office tasks and field tasks that will vary over the period of the internship depending on workload and types of projects that are active at the time.
• Some examples of office tasks may include drafting wetland delineation reports, preparing for field work, completing desktop reviews for wetlands, waterways, and threatened and endangered species, submitting project areas through the IPaC system, completing desktop critical issues analyses for potential developments, preparing and reviewing health and safety documentation, and similar tasks.
• Examples of field tasks may include completing wetland and waterway delineations in the field, operating a GPS unit and collecting data in the field, digging soil pits to check hydric soils, assisting with cultural resources surveys (as needed), assisting with botanical surveys, hiking long distances (2+ miles) over uneven terrain to survey for environmental resources, and similar tasks.
• Assist on current environmental permitting and compliance projects.
• Assist with wetland delineations, wildlife and plant surveys, and other biological fieldwork.
• Document research and field investigations, including surveying and data recovery.
• Perform water quality sampling, vegetation mapping, or brownfield fieldwork.
• Support for field leads, field deployments, field inspections, etc.
• Support additional tasks as necessary.

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Juniors or seniors pursuing Bachelor or Associate Degree in Natural Resource Ecology and Management; Environmental Science; Environmental Biology or related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Comfort in the outdoors and ability to maintain a positive attitude during year-round field work in a variety of weather conditions.
• Excellent communication skills, word processing / writing skills, ability to complete field work in harsh and uncomfortable conditions, detail oriented, motivated, takes initiative.
• Excellent data collection, technical writing and communication skills.
• Collaborative, organized, self-motivated, detail orientated person.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and Google Earth.
• Honest, fun, hard-working and ready to learn and grow.
• The preferred candidate should have a strong interest in Ecology, environmental science, biology, botany, and/or wetland science.
• Should be motivated and a self-starter, detail-oriented, and good word processing skills.
• A primary requirement of the position will be to work outside in conditions that can be uncomfortable or challenging, such as hot temperatures, rainy/wet conditions, and hiking for long periods on uneven terrain while carrying ~20 lbs of gear.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
