Job Overview:

RWJBarnabas Health Human Resources Operations is seeking experienced Human Resources Business Partners to join our Human Resources team. We currently have opportunities available across multiple locations throughout the RWJBarnabas Health system.

The HR Business Partner provides operational and consultative human resources services to staff and management, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits, compensation, and workforce support for assigned departments. This role establishes and maintains effective partnerships with business leaders to ensure organizational and departmental goals related to human resources are achieved.

HR Business Partners serve as trusted advisors to leadership and employees, assist in the delivery of HR programs and services, complete required reporting, oversee onsite HR initiatives, and support special projects as needed. Opportunities may support various hospitals, ambulatory locations, service lines, and corporate functions throughout the organization.

As an HR Business Partner, a Typical Day Might Include:

• Counseling employees regarding transfers, career opportunities, and professional development programs.
• Supporting employee engagement, retention efforts, and employee satisfaction initiatives.
• Conducting exit interviews and identifying workforce trends.
• Serving as the primary HR liaison for assigned leaders and departments.
• Managing employee and labor relations matters.
• Partnering with Employee Health Services and other HR Centers of Excellence.
• Ensuring compliance with employment laws, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Advising leaders on performance management, employee relations, and organizational challenges.
• Preparing facility and corporate reports.
• Supporting grievance responses, unemployment claims, and legal documentation.
• Serving as a consultant and mediator on policy, contract interpretation, and workplace concerns.
• Participating in special projects and organizational initiatives.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Travel Requirements

Travel is required as an essential function of this role to support leaders and teams across the RWJBarnabas Health enterprise.

To Be Considered for These Opportunities

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Behavioral Sciences, or a related field.
• Prior Human Resources Business Partner experience.
• Working knowledge of HRIS and talent management systems.
• Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions.
• Employee and/or Labor Relations experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Three to five years of progressive Human Resources experience at the Generalist or HR Business Partner level.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Experience supporting multiple leaders and departments within a complex organization.
