Manufacturing Engineering Project Manager

Carestream Health (onsite in Rochester, NY) is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Project Manager to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives supporting the manufacturing of medical digital radiography systems, digital detectors, and imaging equipment.

The PM would lead and coordinate projects as they move into Manufacturing, working closely with the Project Core Teams led by design, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Purchasing, Planning, and Manufacturing Leadership.

Must be presently located in the United States, be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident and be able to rapidly begin working at the Carestream Manufacturing facility.No H1B or visas please.

Must have at least 5+ years of engineering including a minimum of 3+ years of Engineering project management experience in a manufacturing, engineering, medical device, industrial equipment, and technical product environment. This isNOT an IT or business role.

Will lead projects being implemented in manufacturing. The PM would lead and coordinate multiple projects as they move into Manufacturing, working closely with the Project Core Teams led by design, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Purchasing, Planning, and Manufacturing Leadership. This will include full new product implementations, product enhancements, new product features and options (CAT#'s, features into standard BOM), field support options and improvements, supplier costing, manufacturing driven workflow and defect implementations. The PM would be responsible for bringing the cross-functional team together, establishing the project plan and milestones, tracking actions, risks, dependencies, and decisions, and driving the project through manufacturing readiness and implementation. Being able to be a strong representative for manufacturing and effectively communicate the relevant information between the core team and the manufacturing team is essential to the success of this role. This includes running manufacturing meetings to keep everyone aligned on the status of activities and being able to identify risks and issues as they come up.

We need someone who can maintain visibility to the overall portfolio, priorities, schedules, and resource demands; identify where projects are competing for the same Manufacturing resources; and highlight where additional time, resources, or leadership support are needed to achieve the goals of the business. The PM should be empowered to make smaller, day-to-day project and prioritization decisions within the agreed scope, while recognizing when an issue has broader business, resource, schedule, or risk implications. For those larger decisions, the PM should bring Manufacturing Leadership the relevant facts, options, tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations needed to make an informed decision.

• As an individual contributor will lead cross-functional projects from initiation through completion, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives are achieved.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including milestones, dependencies, resource requirements, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate execution across engineering, operations, planning, quality, supply chain, and R&D teams to drive alignment and achieve project goals.
• Establish and maintain project governance, tracking tools, and reporting mechanisms to improve visibility to priorities, timelines, and resource constraints.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and bottlenecks, and drive timely resolution of issues.
• Facilitate project reviews, stakeholder meetings, and action tracking to support accountability, communication, and decision-making.
• Support prioritization and resource planning across multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Identify and implement process improvements, systems, or standard work that enhance project execution and cross-functional collaboration.
• Support change management activities related to new tools, workflows, or operational initiatives.
• Travel less than 5% if needed in addition to local Carestream sites.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related technical field.
• Must have at least 5+ years of engineering including a minimum of 3+ years of Engineering project management experience in a manufacturing, engineering, medical device, industrial equipment, and technical product environment.

  This position requires residence in the Rochester, NY area and daily onsite presence at the manufacturing facility.
  
  
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects involving engineering and operational teams.
• Strong understanding of project management principles, including scope development, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
• Experience using project management tools to build schedules, track progress, and manage priorities.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Experience in communicating with stakeholders.

• PMP or equivalent project management certification.
• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, such as medical device, imaging technology, or industrial inspection equipment.
• Experience implementing new tools, systems, or workflow improvements that increase operational efficiency.
• Six Sigma Green/Black Belt Certification
• Medical device knowledge including ISO13485 and MDSAP requirements
• Experience working with ERP, MRP, or project portfolio management systems.
