Description

The primary responsibility will be to conduct thorough analysis of financial statements and assessment of new loan requests. Other responsibilities include assessing credit risks and presenting analysis, findings, and recommendation to Relationship Managers (RMs), Chief Credit Officer, and other approval authorities.

Level I, II, and III will be commensurate with related work experience, demonstrated performance ability, and size and complexity of assigned portfolio.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Underwrite loan request for new customers.
  • Develop and prepare spreadsheets and models to support analysis of new credit applications.
  • Analyze financial statements and the risk of the borrower and transaction.
  • Provide collateral analysis.
  • Appropriately structure credit transactions.
  • Order third party reports (appraisal/evaluation, UCC search, etc).
  • Make recommendation for risk rating, and covenants if applicable.
  • Present credits for approval to the appropriate approving authority.
  • Work closely with Portfolio Managers. Based on workload and loan pipeline, help underwrite annual renewals or new loans for existing relationships.
  • Ensure adherence to Credit policy, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide a high level of service to customers and prospects.
  • Demonstrates strong understanding of businesses in varying industries.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or other business-related fields.
  • Experience in credit underwriting in various types of lending.
  • Strong analytical skills required with completion of a formal bank credit training program and/or industry provided financial analysis and cash flow training.
  • Knowledge in Credit Manager and Financial Analyzer from Finastra software is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to notice discrepancies in data.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in computer skills to include Microsoft Office Products.
  • Dependable and flexible when necessary.
