Technical Account Manager - Pharma (Midwest)

Reports To: Sales Leader for Market Segment

FLSA Status: Salary Exempt Remote

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Technical Account Manager to join our dynamic team.

Summary:

Responsible for ensuring annual growth for the assigned customer base consistent with the organization's financial objectives. It is expected that the Technical Account Manager will develop deep relationships with those decision makers and influencers within the assigned accounts. Those relationships will be developed via face-to-face visits with the customer/prospect with the intention of providing application solutions based on the organization's lateral value chain. This position entails being a technical solutions provider by promoting and selling a comprehensive portfolio of excipients and actives used in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, biopharma applications within the assigned territory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Obtain knowledge of the product lines that the Company represents and the industries that we serve with the ability to make presentations to R&D and manufacturing personnel and work with purchasing to close the sale

Prepare timely call reports and Supplier Highlights, which are written for every significant interaction

Develop sales through aggressively seeking appointments and visits with both current customers and prospects and managing the balance between them so as to ensure results are aligned with the Company's growth strategies.

Provide accurate Forecasting through regular updates from customers to ensure excellence in Inventory

Ensure clear visibilty, both internally and externally, through thorough use of the CRM.

Maintain an accurate and strong Opportunity Pipeline to ensure maximized growth

Provide timely Market Intelligence both internally and to principals

Strive for Margin Optimization

Other Responsibilities include (but not limited to)

  • Understand and adhere to/follow the department procedures and policies
  • Adhere to and support the principles of Responsible Distribution.
  • Assume other activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed.
  • Additional resbonsabilities may be assigned as needed.
  • Overnight travel as necessary or required up to 50%
  • Represent Company in industry and professional activities, such as trade shows, seminars etc.
  • Represent Company with the utmost integrity and in a highly professional and polished manner to include proper dress and conduct
  • Thorough understanding of the typical selling process.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong use of CRM, preferrable Salesforce

Qualifications:

  • 4-year college degree, Technical Preferred (Chemistry, Engineering, Biology etc.)
  • 5-7 years' experience in Pharma and/or nutraceuticals with focus on excipients, API's and ANI's
  • Chemical Distribution experience preferred
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work as required to meet customer, supplier or corporate demands
  • Personal qualities to include good presentation and listening skills, a high energy level, results orientation, diplomacy, creativity, perseverance and persistence, as well as the ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Strong negotiating and communication skills.
