Cosmetology Clinical Instructor (hourly)

Work closely with the Director and Full-Time Cosmetology Teacher to guarantee that students are receiving the maximum education toward theory & practical skills.Supervise students in the classroom and clinic floor.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Plan & implement in a timely manner classroom lesson plans lectures handouts exams and demonstrations as assigned by the Director.
2. Keep accurate student grades in regard to testing handouts projects etc.Turn these grades into Full-Time Cosmetology Teacher to be entered into main excel grade book.
3. During assigned classroom period physically stay in the room with the studentsdo not leave students unsupervised.
4. During assigned clinic coverage stay on the clinic with the studentsdo not leave students unsupervised.(Cosmetology Esthetics or Nail Technology)
5. Maintain a safe & professional atmosphere with regard to student conversation.
6. Maintain a professional & ethical student/teacher relationship.
7. Accumulate 24 CE hours toward Cosmetology Teacher license with the renewal date on September 30 of every other even year if applicable.
8. Accumulate 20 CE hours toward Esthetics Teacher license with the renewal date on September 30 of every other even year if applicable.
9. Accumulate 20 CE hours toward Nail Technology Teacher license with the renewal date on September 30 of every other even year if applicable.
10. Once CE hours are completed renew professional licensure per requirements set forth by the State of Illinois Department of Professional Regulation.
11. Provide the Cosmetology Director with a copy of updated professional licensure before September 30 of every other even year.
12. Attend Cosmetology Teacher meetings.
13. Complete timesheet per pay date schedule & send to Director by scheduled date & time.

Education Requirements:

• Minimum Illinois Cosmetology Teacher license.
