Exciting opportunity to manage Messer's trailer refurbishment center where our team proudly restores our bulk tanker fleet to like-new condition. We're seeking a people and project manager who drives continuous improvement and safety in production/assembly line operations. Our Chattanooga refurb location provides great opportunities for innovation as we're continuing to grow this site year over year.

Principal Responsibilities



  • Lead, motivate, support, and provide guidance to rehab shop staff.
  • Drive trailer refurbishment production schedule to minimize equipment out of service time.
  • Budget, plan and orchestrate production resources (time, labor, and material) to maximize production efficiency while remaining within financial targets.
  • Establish a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure that work performed on transport equipment in the rehab facility is complying to Messer design specifications, quality guidelines, and US DOT/Canada regulations.
  • Champion continued process improvement (CPI) and lean initiatives for fleet refurb maintenance shop with emphasis on 5s implementation & sustainment.
  • Ensure that work processes of technicians are complying to Messer Health Safety and Environment (HSE) safety requirements and OSHA regulations.
  • Developing workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.



Skills and Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, or 10+ years industry experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in industrial plant is required.
  • Production / Project Planning experience required.
  • Experience in mechanical manufacturing and processing technology required.
  • At least 2 years' supervisory experience required in a process manufacturing environment, including staff management and development.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good computer skills: including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
