Cape Fox, subsidiary Mountain Point is seeking a qualifiedCorporate Safety Manager. This candidate position will develop and implement health and safety plans, enforce policies, assess risk, and ensure compliance with legal guidelines for the Mountain Point construction company. Work will be performed primarily within the Southern United States (Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, North Dakota, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, Florida). General construction work will include: building renovations and repair; new construction; pre-construction services, IT and physical security upgrades; electrical, plumbing and HVAC; and demolition. Civil and utility work will focus on specific electrical and underground water infrastructure (e.g., potable water, storm, sewer) and all associated earth moving services.

The Safety Manager supports internal department development of the safety program for standard operating procedures (SOPs), deliverables, subcontractors, and employees to embed the safety culture of Zero accidents in the company. The employee will help improve and/or develop internal safety and quality control (QC) policies. The Safety Manager will oversee the department of site safety and health officers (SSHOs), safety specialists in support of project managers, site superintendents and their construction projects. The Safety Manager will conduct training, investigate incidents, and provide recommendations for improvement, aiming to create a safe and compliant workplace environment.The employee will maintain company safety records and training records for OSHA compliance.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Duties include:



  • Review and update company environmental, health and safety procedures. Ensure company safety and quality standards are met in project execution.
  • Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to OSHA guidelines and EM385-1-1
  • Promote Company safety policies and rules. Assure compliance with Department of Defense and OSHA laws and regulations. Conduct required employee safety training.
  • Establish and continually review safety programs and policies. Revise and develop new policies as required.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop corrective actions.
  • Serve as a Company contact with the insurance carrier. Visit job sites and Company locations with the loss control representative.
  • Manage and maintain workers compensation (WC) claims with insurance company and individuals filing WC claims.
  • Provide toolbox talks to crews and demonstrate the proper way of giving the talks.
  • Provide training and education to employees on environmental, health and safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Update MSDS and first-aid kits.
  • Maintain Company safety recognition program.
  • Comply with all Company policies, rules, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement occupational health and safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, training sessions, and other relevant data.



Work Environment

Primary work will be supporting construction efforts on U.S. Government contracts at military installations. Safety managers typically work full-time in a variety of settings, including offices, facilities or construction sites. travel to facilitate project kick off with safety officers and monthly audits. The employee can be exposed to dangerous or stressful situations. The employee must use safety equipment to minimize the risk of illness or injury.

Employee must be able to work with minimal supervision, be flexible, cooperative and take initiative; work well under pressure, plan, be resourceful, and well organized; maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers and be polite and professional with the general public; maintain a professional approach towards work and a positive attitude and philosophy consistent with Company standards.
