Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) located in scenic Upstate NY is a multi-campus College with locations in Troy and Malta New York. HVCC offers more than 80 degree and certificate programs in three schools: Business and Liberal Arts; Health Sciences; and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). In order to be considered an applicant for this position you must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in this announcement. HVCC does not support Visas. Applicants must currently hold an unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States and appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree with experience in the area of college admissions/post-secondary education or student services. Master's Degree is preferred. Candidate must have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel extensively within a 75-mile radius of HVCC and be able to lift and manage boxes of admission materials.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES: Working directly with the high school counselors in the College's service area and the continuous counties, the Admission Counselor will assist with the coordination of group visits, develop and organize both on and off campus recruitment events and develop strategies and programs to increase applicants to under enrolled programs. Experience and/or awareness of issues involving recruitment of identified special populations is preferred (International/foreign born).

Please note: This position requires working some non-traditional hours and weekends.

Nature and Scope of Duties:
The Admissions Counselor will exercise judgement while working independently designing and implementing Recruitment Programs. The Admissions Counselor will report to the Director of Admissions or designee and perform the following duties:

1. Develop and manage programs designed to increase enrollment in under enrolled programs.

2. Develop a working knowledge of all academic programs at HVCC and the required pre-requisites for the entry into each program.

3. Outreach to area high schools for classroom presentations in conjunction with academic departments

4. Support Workforce Development with apprenticeship programs leading to degrees and recruitment efforts

5. Responsible for coordinating Technology and/or Group Tours

6. Assist the Admissions Office with on and off campus admission events.

7. Conducts Admissions informational meetings/presentations for parents and student groups both on and off campus.

8. Serves as the liaison between Admissions and designated campus office(s).

9. Develop a working knowledge of BANNER CRM Recruit, read files and enter decisions.

10. Maintains membership in professional education-related organizations.

11. Assists other offices within the Division of Enrollment Management & Student Development on an as-needed basis.

12. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions.

There are two vacant positions, both Full-Time positions with a salary range of $41,000-$43,000.
